The Story of The Hive Beeswax Candles

I have always loved candles. There are not many things we buy solely to burn. In my busy world, the soft burning flame of a candle helps me to bring things into perspective and wind down. I cannot find the peace and perspective that I obtain from a flickering candle anywhere else .
Approximately 3 years ago I watched a video about the amazing benefits of beeswax candles thus attempted to purchase one. I was flabbergasted by the exorbitant price and inaccessibility of these candles! My home country of Australia is unique in many ways, one being the vast amount of space, vegetation and wildlife present on this continent. Australia's natural beauty and diverse, wholly unique indigenous flora allows hard-working bees to produce some of the most pristine and pure beeswax worldwide. I wasn't going to let expensive wax or even more expensive candle makers get in my way; I needed to try and make candles from this beautiful Australian resource.
I experimented with making them in early 2018. I made many inconvenient and critical mistakes, a consequnce of teaching yourself something new. However, I did as humans do; I learned from my mistakes and improved. After I overcame a level of self-doubt and insecurity ('are these actually any good...?') I produced a number of candles for my family and friend, who gave me critical constructive criticism in regards to branding, scents, wick selection, jar size and other smaller areas. As I said before, I made many mistakes. In lieu of this I kept refining my technique, and inevitably made more mistakes! After a gruelling period of trial and error, I finally started to consistently make candles I am proud of in early 2019.
I have never been into making candles for any sort of profit... My main motivation has always been to allow more people to access the benefits of Beeswax candles. The candles expensive to make, due to the raw cost of beeswax, however, I have found that you get what you pay for. Whilst burning literally hundreds of beeswax candles, after a lifetime of soy and paraffin candles, I can tell you that the conventionally used waxes do not compare.
I made many dozens of candles before I was proud of them. Candle making has always been a passion project, supplying myself, my household, and my friends with candles. I then started making too many candles for those around me to burn!
My long journey of improving and perfecting these candles has made me proud to offer them for sale. I am glad to competitively price beeswax, to produce candles that are of very high quality without one having to work overtime to afford them.
I pour wax, but also my love and soul into every candle. I have been raised by my role model, my mother, to believe that 'if you're going to do something, do it right'. I meticulously produce each and every candle to exacting standards. Rest assured, I will replace or refund any candle that you may not be satisfied with.
